About
We are moms and moms-to-be who value each other’s experiences. We are always calling and emailing other moms with questions and reassurances. New challenges and questions exist with every pregnancy and each child. We hope to help make some of these challenges go smoother with articles, how-to’s, tips and tricks, stories from our own experiences, product reviews, book reviews, and current events. Every article is up for discussion, so we can learn from others who have already “been there, done that.”
The articles on The Mom Crowd are written from a “this worked for me” point of view. We understand that each child and situation is different. Use your Mom Instinct to decide if a suggestion will work for you and your child.
We are excited to fly the turbulent sky of motherhood together!

I am the mom of my beautiful daughter, Annabelle (May 2007), and my handsome son, Roman (March 2009). I don't enjoy pregnancy, but I love my deliveries. I had both my kids naturally. The first in a hospital and the second at a Birth Center. It wasn't easy for me learn how to breastfeed my first, but I eventually breastfed her for 14 months. I don't know how long I will breastfeed my son. I am a graduate of The University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management. I worked for six years in a cubicle farm as a professional Human Resources Specialist for the U.S. Air Force at Randolph AFB. Currently, I love my new job as a Stay At Home Mom and managing The Mom Crowd.

I am the mother of three boys: Ewan, Isaac, and Graham. When I was pregnant with Ewan, I became interested in natural childbirth. We took classes from an independent teacher who taught The Bradley Method and had a fabulous unmedicated hospital birth. 14 months after Ewan was born we had Isaac, who was born 6 weeks early and spent 2 weeks in the NICU. He was also born naturally in the hospital. That was a difficult time for our family and we learned a lot about premature babies. I spent the first 6 months of Isaac’s life struggling with postpartum depression and learning how to be a mom of two children so close together. I still had a passion for birth and decided to become a childbirth educator. I went through the affiliation process and am a certified Bradley Instructor.
In September of 2007 I gave birth to my third son, Graham. He was born at a birth center and surprised us by weighing almost 12 pounds! While birth has been easy for me, breastfeeding hasn’t. I love breastfeeding but have had different issues with each baby. I am very empathetic to women who try to nurse their babies and have difficulties. I have been a stay at home mom for a little over 4 years. Before being a stay at home mom, which seems like a lifetime ago, I did full time ministry to college students for 5 years.

I am the proud mom of Lucy (born February 2006) and Eli (born July 2007). They are just seventeen months apart! Both of my pregnancies were relatively easy and fun, and I had c-sections with both kiddos. I breastfed both children, each until they were 13 months old. I have found being a stay at home mom both joyful and challenging. My favorite parts of this job are singing to the kids and giving them big hugs and kisses. Before kids, I was an English teacher for 7 years. I'm a huge fan of movies, I watch far too much t.v., and I enjoy photography, reading, blogging, and participating in church activities in my free time.

I have the very special honor of being Darah and Connor's mommy. Connor was born in November of 2006 and has the cutest toothy grin. Darah is my special little sunshine who was born in August of 2004. Darah was born with Down syndrome, a very serious heart defect requiring surgery, and had complex feeding issues. I have been privileged to learn what it means to parent a child with special needs. Physically, both of my pregnancies were fairly easy. I had an epidural in both of my induced labors and for three months pumped my breast milk for Darah. I nursed Connor for a month. I know all too well, that what works for one mom, doesn't always work for another mom and that's okay! I am a Stay At Home Mom and a student. I am studying to become a Speech and Language Pathologist.

I am a mom to two “medical marvels”, Andrew (4) and Catherine (18 months). Told as a teenager that I would probably never have children, I never gave up the desire to be a mom. Even after miscarriages and infertility issues, I was blessed with my beautiful babies! My pregnancy with Andrew was incredibly difficult due to hyperemesis (excessive… and I do mean excessive vomiting) during my entire pregnancy and he was born by emergency c-section. Crazy thing, I loved every minute of that pregnancy! I was blessed to breastfed Andrew for 15 months and fell in love with that part of motherhood. My pregnancy with Catherine was relatively normal compared to Andrew’s and she too was born by c-section and I breastfed her for 18 blissful months. My favorite thing about being a mom has to be the reward of hugs and kisses! I live for them!
In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, going on play dates and most recently getting involved in my new church. My days are full of refereeing, playing and managing Andrew’s diabetes. I am truly blessed to have the life I have and love to share my experiences with others.
